Christmas Tree Lane Walk on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 pm
|
Â
Christmas Tree Lane began in 1920 with a single tree that was decorated to honor a child who had passed away. The tradition has grown every year for 100 years and is a staple of Fresno’s holiday traditions.
Let’s meet in the parking lot of The Habit in Fig Garden Shopping Center at 7:00 pm then we’ll walk the lane and return to where we started. Refreshments will be provided. Please bring your spouse and kids! Anyone who wants to catch dinner beforehand, meet up around 6 pm at The Habit. Â

October Branch Luncheon
Caltrans structures representatives, Nathan Quiroz and Martin Garcia, gave an excellent presentation at our October 17th branch luncheon of the cutting-edge Kings River Bridge Replacement project on Route 41 south of Stratford. This bridge was the first of its kind for Caltrans with pocket connections at the precast drop caps. The pocket connections were filled with self-consolidating concrete after the precast beams were lowered onto driven piles. This is a new feature of Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) methods by Caltrans. No luncheons are scheduled for November or December due to the holidays

Student Chapter Banquet
The Student Chapter held their annual Banquet on November 14th at the Painted Table. Our own Tony Akel was the featured speaker (he pitched in at the last minute in place of a San Francisco Section speaker). The existing cabinet was recognized for their efforts and the new cabinet was introduced. Thanks to all the firms who sponsored a table and attended the event.
