Financial planning can be a daunting topic, even for us math savvy engineers. So, we’ve asked Derek Elrod with Bridgewealth Advisory Group to present on a few financial subjects that might be of interest to engineers who are looking to take charge of their finances and confidentially plan for their retirement. Derek will be discussing the basics and benefits of financial planning, the importance of starting early; the differences between 401k, IRA, and Roth IRA; and many other important financial topics.
Derek is a Partner at Bridgewealth Advisory Group, Chairman of the Financial Planning Association of Central California, and has a weekly segment on KMPH’s Great Day called Dollars and Sense. He received his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a focus on Finance, his Masters in Business and Administration from California State University Fresno, and a Masters in Financial Planning & Taxation from Golden Gate University. Derek is a Certified Financial Planner and also possesses a Series 7 securities license, a Series 66 license, and a California Life & Health Insurance license.
