Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, Engineers Week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. ASCE SJ YMF will host 4 events in 2026 and expects approximately 400 participants spanning across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. Events will feature hands-on activities, presentations by industry professionals, and lunch. Events are provided to students and faculty at no cost and so support from local engineering firms and agencies are crucial to our success. Additionally, the program is planned and executed by a group of volunteers. This year's program will include: Engineers Week – Elementary School Day Monday, February 9, 2026 VTA Headquarters | San Jose, CA Engineers Week – Middle School Day Tuesday, February 10, 2026 San Jose Mineta International Airport | San Jose, CA Engineers Week – Girl Day Thursday, February 12, 2026 San Jose Woman’s Club | San Jose, CA Engineers Week – High School Day Friday, February 13, 2026 Valley Water Board Room | San Jose, CA Volunteer assignments were sent out late last week.
