Engineers Week 2026

Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, Engineers Week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. ASCE SJ YMF will host 4 events in 2026 and expects approximately 400 participants spanning across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. Events will feature hands-on activities, presentations by industry professionals, and lunch. Events are provided to students and faculty at no cost and so support from local engineering firms and agencies are crucial to our success. Additionally, the program is planned and executed by a group of volunteers.

This year's program will include:

Engineers Week – Elementary School Day

Monday, February 9, 2026

VTA Headquarters | San Jose, CA

Engineers Week – Middle School Day

Tuesday, February 10, 2026

San Jose Mineta International Airport | San Jose, CA

Engineers Week – Girl Day

Thursday, February 12, 2026

San Jose Woman’s Club | San Jose, CA

Engineers Week – High School Day

Friday, February 13, 2026

Valley Water Board Room | San Jose, CA

Volunteer assignments were sent out late last week. If you submitted your interest form in the past few days, please allow a day or two for us to contact you with your assignment.

On behalf of the Engineers Week 2026 Committee, we thank the generous agencies, firms, and non-profit organizations who contributed to our program. With their support we will be able to fund 100% of our program, including buses for schools unable to secure their own transportation. Thank you for your support!

Engineers Week 2026 Planning Committee

The ASCE San Jose Younger Member Forum would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the dedicated committee who has volunteered countless hours to bring Engineers Week to life. From late spring planning through every step of execution, this team has invested hundreds of hours over a nine-month planning cycle to create an impactful experience that inspires and engages future generations of engineers. Their passion, creativity, and commitment have been instrumental in shaping an event that celebrates STEM, supports students, and highlights the importance of engineering in our community. Thank you for your tireless work and leadership in making this year’s Engineers Week a success!
