ASCE SAN JOSE BRANCH | APWA SILICON VALLEY JOINT LUNCHEON

Join APWA Silicon Valley and ASCE San Jose Branch to kick off the new year with an informative luncheon on Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), a critical component of modern infrastructure projects. SUE involves the investigation, mapping, and management of underground utilities such as water, gas, electric, telecommunications, and sewer lines. Accurate utility data helps reduce risk, prevent costly delays, and enhance safety throughout the design and construction process. Using advanced technologies like ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic locating, and vacuum excavation, SUE provides essential information that supports informed decision-making and minimizes utility conflicts. This session will highlight how SUE aligns with ASCE 38-22, the latest national standard for utility investigations. The standard outlines quality levels, best practices, and documentation methods that ensure consistent, reliable subsurface utility data across all project stages.
