If you are interested in learning how you can make a positive impact on the Civil Engineering community, join us at one of our meetings! The ASCE SJ YMF meets on the third Thursday of every month. Our next board meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, June 24th, at 6:00PM. Note that the June Board Meeting has been rescheduled in observance of Juneteenth. EXCITING OPPORTUNITY: SOCIAL MEDIA CHAIR AND WEBMASTER WANTED!

The ASCE San Jose Younger Member Forum is looking for passionate individuals to join our team as Social Media Chair or Webmaster!

 

As Social Media Chair, you’ll oversee our Instagram, LinkedIn, and Linktree accounts, helping us connect with our community and share exciting updates. If you’re interested in managing and growing our online presence, this role is perfect for you.

 

As Webmaster, you will manage our website, creating event pages and links and updating content. No prior experience is required; however, we do ask that the Webmaster be able and willing to commit to a 2-year term.

TECHNICAL PRESENTATION: SUBSURFACE UTILITY ENGINEERING

Join the ASCE San Jose Younger Member Forum for an informative technical presentation on Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE).

 

Time: 5:30PM – 7:00PM

The presentation will be immediately followed by a networking social sponsored by T2 Utility Engineers at a restaurant across the street. Registration for this event is required. The in-person event is limited to the first 20 registrants. A Zoom link will be made available for those who cannot attend in-person.

SAN FRANCISCO SECTION AWARD NOMINATIONS OPEN

DEADLINE TO APPLY: JULY 15TH

Applications for Individual and Project Awards are being accepted through July 15, 2025.

 

ASCE San Francisco Section Individual Awards recognize individuals for outstanding achievements or leadership in civil engineering, or who through their work, support and advance the profession. Nominations can be made by any Branch, Younger Member Forum, Life Member Forum, Technical Group, Committee, or individual member. Additional specific criteria governing each Individual Award must also be satisfied.

 

ASCE San Francisco Section Project Awards recognize outstanding Civil Engineering projects in the San Francisco Section geographic area. Only projects completed within the San Francisco Section geographic area are eligible for consideration. The following is a list of counties in the San Francisco Section: Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Lake, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Solano, San Francisco, Contra Costa, San Mateo, San Jose, Alameda, Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare.

CAIS 2026: COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED

The California Infrastructure Symposium (CAIS) will be hosted by ASCE San Francisco Section and Region 9 in Spring 2026. Planning for the conference has begin and the committee is looking for additional volunteers to assist with marketing, registrations, graphics, web content, and more.
